Inside Mermaid's Cottage

Firstly I want to thank you all for those lovely comments on my last post, they made me so happy!!!

I would love to share some photos of Mermaid's Cottage kitchen and living area with you. Mermaid's Cottage is tiny and cosy, it has one room downstairs and one room upstairs so I have made the downstairs a combined kitchen and living space.

It is filled with all the things I love. Shabby chic, vintage style furniture in my favourite shades of pastel pink and blue, gorgeous fabrics, roses, polka dots, handmade flowers in pretty hand painted jugs, and lovely, happy pottery pieces which are handmade and hand painted by me.
I have added touches of red for extra warmth and cosiness. I found the gorgeous little red gingham armchair on ebay and I have hand sewn some happy little cushions for it. I really enjoyed making the little picture frames with polka dot hearts and I feel they add a real touch of homeliness to my little world.

I made the little worktop and cooker rings from wood. The gorgeous red saucepans are vintage. I was so happy when I found these on ebay, they are so perfect for my kitchen!! The lovely little pink enamel kettle was also a must have for my kitchen and is hand painted by me.

In the photo below the lovely little loaf of bread and the jars of jam on the worktop are handmade by the very talented sisters of LugArtPetit. The picture frame on the dresser was a gift from lovely and talented Ana and the beautiful pink basket on the dresser was one of the treasures I won in her giveaway.

Now I am thinking about the next kitchen I want to make :0)

I made this sink for my Etsy shop and I really want to make another one for myself and use it as the centrepiece for a whole new kitchen :)
I am happy to say that this one has gone to a wonderful home with a lovely lady!!

Hugs to you all

Happiness

I have been asking my self recently "What things in life bring me the most happiness?"

When I started my blog (I can hardly believe it is nearly a year ago) I decided it would be my happy place. Whatever was going on in my life I wanted my blog to be a place where I would let it all go and concentrate on creating a happy world with my bears and my miniatures.
Many difficult and unhappy things have happened in my life this year but my blog has always been there, helping me to get through it all and helping me to fill my mind with happy thoughts.

My blog started with a post written by Twinkle the bunny. She is the reason I started my blog, I wanted to share her and my other creations with the world and I really, really wanted to create party scenes. This is definitely the thing which brings me the most happiness!!!!

So over the last few weeks I have started to create some new little Lovejoy Bears :o)
I am also thinking about party scenes. It is Twinkle's first birthday in November and it is also the first birthday of Lovejoy Bears blog!! There will need to be a very special party to celebrate this :o) And you are all invited.

Twinkle and Hetty are VERY happy!! They have been playing in my stash of hand dyed silk plush. They are dreaming of all the little friends I will create for them :0)

Thank you to all my blog friends for bringing me happiness with your comments, support and friendship.
I am wishing that you will all find some happiness this week and treasure every moment, it is so precious!!

Hugs

Gorgeous Gifts from Gorgeous Friends

I'd like to thank all the lovely people who left such supportive and loving comments on my last post, you're all wonderful, thank you.

I recently received some lovely gifts from some precious friends and I want to share some photos with you.

Firstly I have received these gorgeous gifts from Ana, http://elmundoana.blogspot.co.uk/, a wonderfully kind, generous and loving friend who I feel very blessed to know. After winning Ana's giveaway I sent her a little gift to say thank you and then to my delight she sent me these gorgeous gifts. Everything is so beautiful.

I have also received some beautiful gifts from Drora, http://drorasminimundo.blogspot.co.uk/, another special and lovely friend who I feel blessed to have met in blogland. I saw some gorgeous framed shells on her blog recently and I left a comment saying how much I liked them. She then sent me an email saying she would like to send me some, I was so happy!!! They are extra special because they are from the Sea of Galilee and perfect for my Mermaid's Cottage :0)

Thank you so much Ana and Drora!!!

And here are some photos of a few of the things I have been working on for my Etsy shop. I'm so happy to have made my first sales and I'm constantly thinking of things to make, I just wish there was more time in the day :0)
